Acid Reflux Cause
A Few Helpful Hints For Dealing
With Acid Reflux
Most Americans today Most Americans today suffer from the painful condition known as acid reflux. Cause for this condition is well known, and can be easily treated with a bit of dedication. Acid reflux can vary between people, being mildly uncomfortable in some and incredibly painful in others. You don't need to experience this unnecessary pain any more; just follow a few simple rules, cut some things out of your diet, and be on the way to healthy living once again. The pain that you feel affects almost everyone but it doesn't have to.
Diet is the one major acid reflux cause, and stress is the other. By adjusting these two areas of your lifestyle, you can effectively treat the symptoms and even prevent future occurrences. Acid reflux is essentially the burning sensation you feel when the acidic juices in your stomach moves up into your esophagus and inflames and irritates the thin lining there. Your stomach has a very thick lining which can deal with the acidic juices, but the esophagus doesn't and it gets sore very quickly when it comes into contact with the corrosive acidic juices which are meant for breaking up food in your stomach.
The acidic juices in your stomach are pushed up your esophagus because of extra pressure put onto your stomach and stomach muscles. This is the major physical acid reflux cause, and it is caused, in turn, by too much food that sits for too long in your stomach. Fried and fatty foods are really bad for you because they take much longer to digest and so they sit in your stomach for longer. These fried and fatty foods are usually eaten in large quantities because they taste so good, so the pressure they contribute is doubly worse.
You can avoid these fried and fatty foods, and you can cut out some other naughty foods too. Try cutting out citric juices, tea, coffee, chocolate and cheese and see if this affects the severity of your acid reflux. Cause for your discomfort can be determined by a process of elimination too. Simply make a list of everything that you eat and then write down when you get heart burn or acid reflux. If you can identify the trigger food that gives you acid reflux, you can eliminate that part of your diet and stop suffering from painful and uncomfortable acid reflux.
The acid reflux cause can also be eliminated when you are sleeping, if you are one of those unfortunate people who often wake up with painful acid reflux. Simply make sure that your head is at a higher elevation than your stomach by sleeping with more pillows. This will prevent any acidic juices from flowing down your esophagus when you are sleeping. Acid reflux can be beaten before it becomes too serious. Make sure that you put your health first and eliminate all of the problematic aspects of your diet. You don't need to suffer unnecessarily - there is hope for the prevention of acid reflux!
